Indian Film Music Director Omkar Prasad Nayyar

Indian Film Music Director Omkar Prasad Nayyar was born on 16 January 1926 and died on 28 January 2007 in Mumbai. He was often identified as “individualistic”, “standoffish”, and an “unconventional person”, Omkar Prakash Nayyar some would refute that he was amongst the preeminent musical notables in the Hindi movie industry of the era of 1950s and 1960s.

He was born in Lahore, British India on January 16, 1926, O.P. Nayyar, who delivered us such enduring favorites as the song “Jhumka Gira Re” and “Pukarta Chala Hoon Main”, came from a house with no knowledge and background in music. 

He educated in music for a small-time while Nayyar had limited formal music training. He practiced singing at local celebrations as a boy. Later on, the All India Radio opened its branch in Lahore requested him to sing there. He used to sing on the radio infrequently.  

O. P. Nayyar was an Indian Singer, Composer, Song Writer, Music Director, and Album Producer. He was a free natured personality and who had worked with fabulously legendary singers like Asha Bhosle, Geeta Dutt, and Mohammed Rafi amongst many others of that era.

O. P. Nayyar began his professional profession by creating a piece of background music for the movie Kaneez. He debuted with the movie as a music director in the movie Aasmaan which was released in the year 1952. For his wonderful music, he grew as an overnight superstar and his creations were critically commendation and worked well with the viewers as well. He was at top of his occupation throughout the years of the 1950s and 1960s. He created music for blockbuster films like Baaz, Chham Chaam Chaam, Tumsa Nahi Dekha, Ek Musafir Ek Hasina, Phir Wo Dil Laaya Hoon, Aar Paar, C.I.D, and Mr&Mrs. ’55, amongst others.

As stated by numerous, his work weakened be obligated to his offensive stubbornness. He did not work with current artists in the year of 1970s. Those budding artists include such as Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. Alternatively, he chooses to compose music for already established artist superstars of that era Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, and Feroz Khan.

He was potentially one of the greatest music composers during the time of the 1960s. But he was not seen extremely after that. He was a megastar and after his death Government of Indian released a postal memorial stamp of his in the year 2013. Nayyar passed away on January 28, 2007, at the age of 81 years.
