Indian playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy Subramaniam was born on 25 January 1958 in Delhi. Kavita Krishnamurthy Subramaniam is an Indian playback singer. She is trained in Indian classical music. She has recorded higher than twenty-five thousand songs in 16 different languages such as like Bengali, Kannada, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Odia, Marathi, English, Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Assamese, Konkani, and in some different languages.
At the very young age of 9 years old, she received a chance to record a Tagore song in the Bengali language with the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar under the protection of the famous music arranger Hemant Kumar. Although the growing Kavita was wanting to be serving with the Indian Foreign Services, Kavita shifted to Mumbai when she was just 14 years old to seek her break as a playback vocalist in the Hindi film cinema production.
Popular and successful Indian composer Laxmikant presented her an opportunity to serve as a dubbing artist or a work in playback singing following. Kavita took the choice of playback singing and moved Laxmikant with her powerful earthing in Indian traditional music and her eloquent resonance. Originally, she managed and used to tape songs and cut exteriorization of songs dedicated to legendary musicians like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
In the year 1985, her work steered off with her initial influential single, “Tumse Milkar Na Jaane Kyon” a song from the 1985 movie Pyar Jhukta Nahin. Post the victory of the melody, it inaugurated up numerous chances exceeding the Laxmikant-Pyarelal encampment. Although originally a playback singer, Kavita has vocalized with orchestras as a solo artist she cooperated with Western musicians from jazz, pop, and classical fields. She has presented her voice for many An record. Kavita has played in the whole of India. She is the winner of 4 Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Honors which she has won consecutively during the years 1995 to 1997. She was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India which she received in the year 2005.
