Her father, Vijay Singhrao Madhavrao Patwardhan, is the king of Sangli in Maharashtra. She mainly worked in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada movie industries and established herself as the most desirable star. Her original name is Shrimant Rajkumari Bhagyashree Raje Patwardhan.
EARLY CAREER IN MOVIES AND TELEVISION
Bhagyashree is largely recognized for a debut appearance movie called “Maine Pyar Kiya” in which she acted with the budding actor of that time Salman Khan as a leading actress. Bhagyashree Patwardhan began her profession as an actress acting on a television program and made her television debut with the daily show called “Kacchi Dhoop”. In the serial, she represented the character named Alka and it was a daily soap show which was aired in the year 1987.
Following then, Bhagyashree often performed in several television series and films. In her whole acting career, she has performed in more further than 20 films and also acted in various TV programs, like; CID in the year 2001, Kabhi Kabhi in the year 2003, Studio One in the year 2005, and numerous others. Her introduction with acting followed by accident when next-door neighbor Amol Palekar, who happened to be a famous actor-director, asked her to act in his directed serial called Kacchi Dhoop as the heroine. The show did great and following on she began to receive other offers for film and TV serials. Later on, she received a role in Honi Anhoni and Kisse Miya Biwi Ke movies as a leading actress.

Indian Television Academy Award-nominated her for the Best Actress Award but unfortunately, she did not win. In her breakthrough debut movie “Maine Pyar Kiya” she received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut in the year 1989.
